When Safety Comes First, Good Things Follow.
The most important part of every workday is sending home our team members safe every night. And to do that, our Safety Team works tirelessly to keep our crews equipped and informed.
And while keeping our people safe is its own reward, we’re always glad when our Safety Team earns some recognition outside the company. One consistent source of that recognition are the annual STEP awards, presented by Associated Builders and Contractors.
Founded in 1989 as a safety bench-marking and improvement tool, STEP has evolved into a world-class safety management system that dramatically improves safety performance among participants regardless of company size or type of work. Participating ABC member firms measure their safety processes and policies on 25 key components through a detailed questionnaire with the goal of implementing or enhancing safety programs that reduce job site incidents.
After submitting safety data for ODI, ODF, ODAD, ISC, and HyperClean we were honored to have earned Platinum, Gold, and Silver awards which signify that our companies maintain safety records up to 827% above the industry average.

While we are always proud to take home STEP Awards, this year felt even more special because of the the challenges presented by Coronavirus. Maintaining our exceptional safety record – and even improving it in some cases – is difficult under normal circumstances. The fact that we achieved this recognition during the pandemic is a testament to the amazing Safety Team we have working for us.
